The Best Guitar Lube: Big Bends Nut Sauce

Today I’m going to talk about the best all-around guitar lubricant I’ve ever used,
Big Bends Nut Sauce Tuning Lubricant

There are a lot of moving parts on your guitar. Think about all the things that move on your guitar and you can lube most of them with Big Bends Nut Sauce. Here’s a list:

  1. The strings in the nut slots (Nut Sauce’s original use)
  2. The strings over the bridge saddles
  3. The pivot points on your floating tremolo whammy bar system.
  4. The string trees on the headstock
  5. The strap buttons on your strap lock system.

I use Big Bends Nut Sauce on every single one of these areas and my guitars stay in tune incredibly well. Big Bends Nut Sauce makes my Fender American Deluxe Stratocasters stay in tune almost as well as my double locking Floyd Rose systems on my Ibanez and hand made guitars. My straplocks don’t show any of the wear and tear you usually get from the constant swinging of the strap in the lock channel either. It also helps to keep the strap buttons from loosening up by reducing friction between the strap side and the button side of the lock system.

I used to use graphite, or pencil lead. I’ve even tried vaseline and Chap Stick. They all made a mess of my guitar and didn’t really work all that well. I’ve still got dirty pencil lead graphite smudges on my unfinished birdseye maple neck on a custom made Stratocaster. Big Bends goes on easy and stays where you put it. It’s also very clean even if you put a bit too much on.

So I’m wholeheartedly recommending Big Bends Nut Sauce Tuning Lubricant with my highest endorsement. It blows plain old graphite away!

So I heard there is a special song that goes along with Big Bends Nut Sauce. Is that true?
Maybe you could post it on your Myspace page.
Tell Ulysses Ronquillo hello for me.

As a matter of fact, yes there’s an unofficial theme song that my band, Shufflin’ Noah, recorded one night at practice. I’ll look at uploading it for you.

Should you use nut sauce on the nut part of the neck? I mean, even if its a locking nut?
I have an Ibanez with a floyd trem and I lube the saddles and posts, but never knew if I needed to lube the licking nut also. Any help is appreciated 🙂 Thanks guys!

I meant Locking nut – not Licking nut LoL hahhah dirty minds unite!

  • Hey Rafael, I don’t use any nut sauce on the locking nut for my Floyd Rose equipped guitar. I do use it extensively on the non-locking nut guitars I own. It really helps to keep the strings sliding easily on my Fender American Deluxe Stratocasters. I don’t know about the licking nut though. 🙂
