I got a good laugh out of this one. It’s that crazy scientist Beaker from the Muppet Show singing Beethoven’s Ode To Joy. That Beaker can really lay out some serious music! Of course things get quickly out of hand like they always seem to do when you turn Beaker loose. All I can say is go Beaker go!!

Sunday Funnies – Bohemian Rhapsody Performed By Hayseed Dixie
Hayseed Dixie is always good for a laugh with their bluegrass renditions of popular rock songs. The reason they’re making the Live Musician Central Sunday Funnies is because their video for the cover of Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody is truly hilarious. If you’ve ever seen the Queen video for Bohemian Rhapsody then you’ll get a kick out of all the great imagery in the Hayseed Dixie cover version. I hope you enjoy this week’s Sunday Funnies!

Sunday Funnies – Steve Martin King Tut
For today’s Sunday Funnies I’m posting up a classic Saturday Night Live clip of Steve Martin singing his song King Tut. This is one of the great musical comedy moments on SNL and it’s still pretty funny even today. I remember back in High School, my live band learned this song and dressed up in toga’s to perform this song at an assembly. It got a great reaction and even made it into the yearbook. I hope you enjoy revisiting Steve Martin performing King Tut!

Sunday Funnies – Betty White On SNL Lawrence Welk
I got some great laughs watching the incomperable Betty White on Saturday Night Live recently. Here’s the hilarious clip of the shows opening sketch. It’s a spoof of good old Lawrence Welk with Betty’s four daughters doing a Mother’s Day tribute. Enjoy! 😮

Sunday Funnies – The Assumption Song
I got me a good laugh out of this one. This is fair warning, if you’re easily offended you may not want to listen to this song! The lyrics lead you to make assumptions that may not be the most family oriented. So, that being said, the lyrics are mostly non-explicit except for one beeped out word at the end.
The song is called “The Assumption Song” and is performed by The Arrogant Worms. I hope you enjoy it! 🙂 (more…)

Sunday Funnies – Sesame Street Ladybug Picnic
Okay, growing up we didn’t have a whole lot of TV channels so the choices in kids shows were fairly limited. One staple of our growing up years was Sesame Street. It’s been fascinating over the years hearing how the music we listened to on Sesame Street has influenced our songwriting. My band Shufflin’ Noah has been known to bust off a Sesame Street style original or even a cover song over the years.
The Ladybug Picnic is a short counting song that sticks in your brain and just won’t let go. There’s just something crazy catchy about it. So watch at your own peril because once you hear this song, you may not be able to get rid of it! (more…)

Sunday Funnies – Bikini Girls And Spectacles
For today’s Sunday Funnies I’m posting up a pretty funny ad for Specsavers. It’s relevant to performing musicians because let’s face it, you have to look cool when you’re up onstage. There’s nothing that can overcome a dorky look, so be careful how you dress! (more…)

Sunday Funnies – Annoying Orange Harasses Leprechaun
I figured since it was almost St. Patricks day that we ought to have a little St. Patty’s day humor. Today I’m posting up a video of the Annoying Orange, who is truly annoying, giving a Leprechaun a seriously hard time. I hope you all have a great St. Patricks day! (more…)

Sunday Funnies – ‘Let’s Duet’ from the movie Walk Hard
There’s some pretty good music parody movies out there. One of the more irreverent ones is Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story starring John C. Reilly. There are a lot of funny scenes in that movie and today I’m posting up a clip of Dewey Cox singing a song with Darlene Madison (played by Jenna Fischer). The song is called “Let’s Duet” and it has some very hilarious lyrics in it. (more…)

Sunday Funnies – Ras Trent SNL
For todays Sunday Funnies I’m posting up another great music video clip from Saturday Night Live. This one features Andy Samberg as a rastafarian wannabe named Ras Trent. It totally cracks me up because he’s the being the perfect poseur in this video. I hope you get a laugh out of it too. (more…)
