   This has long been one of my live band’s favorite Christmas songs. Sunday Funnies – Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer

A Christmas classic funny song that will get you laughing every time.

   Yes it’s Christmas time once again and that means it’s time for some good Christmas humor for the Live Musician Central Sunday Funnies. Here’s a song that’s been covered by more than a few live bands in it’s time. It’s been a few years since Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer was released and it’s become a real Christmas classic. I remember when it was released in 1983 and laughing good and hard at the accompanying music video. My Mom, who was a Grandma too, didn’t find the song quite as funny as we kids did for some reason.

   If you’ve ever been to McDonalds you’ll get some pretty good chuckles out of this rap by YouTube user GoRemy. Remy’s rapping is barely passable but he’s got some pretty funny lyrics in this rap. It was funny enough to make it onto this weeks Sunday Funnies on Live Musician Central anyway!

   This is a pretty hilarious look at the good old 1980’s. The artists are Rhett and Link and they have a fine collection of funny music and videos they’ve created. Here’s a funny video clip of the evening news put together using a pitch correction software. I don’t know about you but the use of auto-tune software is bordering on out-of-control. What with T-Pain and Lady Gaga using auto-tune on every single song they do. This clips is just a fine example of how anyone can sing using auto-tune!

   Ah yes, for many of us our first experience playing in a live band was playing in school marching band. All those hours of practicing out on the football field or marching up and down the city streets to get ready for a parade. Needless to say when you’re marching it’s hard to keep an eye on everything that’s going on around you.

Ever since the isolated vocal track of David Lee Roth singing the Van Halen song “Runnin’ With The Devil” got out on the Internet there have been some pretty funny mashups of David Lee Roth singing with various other songs. This is one of the funnier ones and is a mashup of “Runnin’ With The Devil” and the Michael Jackson song “Billie Jean”. This is a funny video called “Cool Guys Don’t Look At Explosions” by a group of filmakers called The Lonely Island. The Lonely Island is comprised of cast members and writing staff for Saturday Night Live so I’m sure you’ll recognize the people in this video. There’s a pretty funny cameo of JJ Abrams playing a wicked keyboard solo too.

   I’m posting a funny video that he made showing all the crazy things that people send to him in the mail. It’s amazing the amount and variety of things that people all over the world send to him in the mail. One part that really cracked me up in this video clip is when he’s playing the miniature bagpipes that some lady in England sent him.
