  • Sunday Funnies – Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer

       Yes it’s Christmas time once again and that means it’s time for some good Christmas humor for the Live Musician Central Sunday Funnies. Here’s a song that’s been covered by more than a few live bands in it’s time. It’s been a few years since Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer was released and it’s become a real Christmas classic. I remember when it was released in 1983 and laughing good and hard at the accompanying music video. My Mom, who was a Grandma too, didn’t find the song quite as funny as we kids did for some reason.

       I hope you get a good chuckle out of the video for Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer. If you haven’t seen it for a while I’m sure you’ll see a few things that will get you laughing yet again.     (more…)

    Here’s a funny video clip of the evening news put together using a pitch correction software. I don’t know about you but the use of auto-tune software is bordering on out-of-control. What with T-Pain and Lady Gaga using auto-tune on every single song they do. This clips is just a fine example of how anyone can sing using auto-tune!

  • Sunday Funnies – David Lee Roth – Runnin’ With Billie Jean

    Ever since the isolated vocal track of David Lee Roth singing the Van Halen song “Runnin’ With The Devil” got out on the Internet there have been some pretty funny mashups of David Lee Roth singing with various other songs. This is one of the funnier ones and is a mashup of “Runnin’ With The Devil” and the Michael Jackson song “Billie Jean”. I figured with the release of the new Michael Jackson movie “This Is It” it would be a good time for Mr. Roth to pay tribute to Michael Jackson.   (more…)

  • Sunday Funnies – Cool Guys Don’t Look At Explosions

    This is a funny video called “Cool Guys Don’t Look At Explosions” by a group of filmakers called The Lonely Island. The Lonely Island is comprised of cast members and writing staff for Saturday Night Live so I’m sure you’ll recognize the people in this video. There’s a pretty funny cameo of JJ Abrams playing a wicked keyboard solo too.

       David Choi is a musician from Los Angeles who has generated a pretty good buzz for his music and merchandise. You can check him out at davidchoimusic.com to see what he’s all about.

       I’m posting a funny video that he made showing all the crazy things that people send to him in the mail. It’s amazing the amount and variety of things that people all over the world send to him in the mail. One part that really cracked me up in this video clip is when he’s playing the miniature bagpipes that some lady in England sent him.   • Sunday Funnies – John Lennon Tub Scene From A Hard Days Night

       Hard Days Night is my favorite Beatles movie simply because it seems so fresh and carefree. This is one of my favorite scenes in the movie with John Lennon horsing around with toy submarines in the bathtub. He just cracks me up doing all the funny voices and generally goofing off.        I though this was a pretty funny side by side comparison of Michael Jackson’s video for “Bad” and Weird Al Yankovic’s video for “Fat”.  The music running simultaneously is kind of irritating but it’s really funny to watch what Wierd Al did with the parody of the original video.    (more…)
