  • Sunday Funnies – Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer

       Yes it’s Christmas time once again and that means it’s time for some good Christmas humor for the Live Musician Central Sunday Funnies. Here’s a song that’s been covered by more than a few live bands in it’s time. It’s been a few years since Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer was released and it’s become a real Christmas classic. I remember when it was released in 1983 and laughing good and hard at the accompanying music video. My Mom, who was a Grandma too, didn’t find the song quite as funny as we kids did for some reason.

       I hope you get a good chuckle out of the video for Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer. If you haven’t seen it for a while I’m sure you’ll see a few things that will get you laughing yet again.     (more…)

  • Sunday Funnies – McDonald’s: The Rap

       If you’ve ever been to McDonalds you’ll get some pretty good chuckles out of this rap by YouTube user GoRemy. Remy’s rapping is barely passable but he’s got some pretty funny lyrics in this rap. It was funny enough to make it onto this weeks Sunday Funnies on Live Musician Central anyway!

       This is a pretty hilarious look at the good old 1980’s. The artists are Rhett and Link and they have a fine collection of funny music and videos they’ve created. I got a good laugh out of this one and it brought back some fond memories of growing up in the 80’s.     (more…)

  • Sunday Funnies – Marching Band Fails And Wins!

       Ah yes, for many of us our first experience playing in a live band was playing in school marching band. All those hours of practicing out on the football field or marching up and down the city streets to get ready for a parade. Needless to say when you’re marching it’s hard to keep an eye on everything that’s going on around you.

       Here’s a collection of marching band fails and a few wins at the end of the clip. There’s a great win where a kid runs through the middle of the marching band too! I hope you enjoy it on todays Sunday Funnies.     (more…)

  • Sunday Funnies – David Lee Roth – Runnin’ With Billie Jean

    Ever since the isolated vocal track of David Lee Roth singing the Van Halen song “Runnin’ With The Devil” got out on the Internet there have been some pretty funny mashups of David Lee Roth singing with various other songs. This is one of the funnier ones and is a mashup of “Runnin’ With The Devil” and the Michael Jackson song “Billie Jean”. I figured with the release of the new Michael Jackson movie “This Is It” it would be a good time for Mr. Roth to pay tribute to Michael Jackson.   (more…)

  • Sunday Funnies – Cool Guys Don’t Look At Explosions

    This is a funny video called “Cool Guys Don’t Look At Explosions” by a group of filmakers called The Lonely Island. The Lonely Island is comprised of cast members and writing staff for Saturday Night Live so I’m sure you’ll recognize the people in this video. There’s a pretty funny cameo of JJ Abrams playing a wicked keyboard solo too.

  • Sunday Funnies – Stuff People Send David Choi

       David Choi is a musician from Los Angeles who has generated a pretty good buzz for his music and merchandise. You can check him out at davidchoimusic.com to see what he’s all about.

       I’m posting a funny video that he made showing all the crazy things that people send to him in the mail. It’s amazing the amount and variety of things that people all over the world send to him in the mail. One part that really cracked me up in this video clip is when he’s playing the miniature bagpipes that some lady in England sent him.   • The Beatles: Rock Band Intro and Outro Animations

    The other day on Live Musician Central we did a review of The Beatles: Rock Band video game. One of the things we talked about was how amazing the animation was in the game. So today we’re posting up the video clips of the opening and closing animations of The Beatles: Rock Band so you can see for yourself how great they look. On our Playstation 3 system they look much better because the resolution is true HD.

    The intro and outro videos were directed by Pete Candeland who is best known for animating The Gorillaz. The videos in The Beatles: Rock Band definitely have his unique style to them and they really take you into another world where The Beatles themselves rule.    (more…)

  • Sunday Funnies – John Lennon Tub Scene From A Hard Days Night

       Hard Days Night is my favorite Beatles movie simply because it seems so fresh and carefree. This is one of my favorite scenes in the movie with John Lennon horsing around with toy submarines in the bathtub. He just cracks me up doing all the funny voices and generally goofing off.
