I’ve written before about how much I use and love Big Bends Nut Sauce Tuning Lubricant. My Stratocaster and Les Paul guitars stay in tune so much better when I use Big Bends Nut Sauce that I just can’t live without it. Big Bends also makes a great line of guitar care products I’d like to turn you on to.
My Les Paul Custom has a nitrocellulose finish on it that looks fantastic but is also quite fragile. I used to grab a terry cloth towel and some polish to clean it up but it was always a lot of work using terry cloth. Then I tried a Big Bends AXS Wipe Microfiber Polish Cloth and I was amazed at how quickly and how well my nitrocellulose finish cleaned up. The Microfiber Polish Cloth is just fantastic at picking up dirt and grime with a minimum of rubbing. If you’ve never tried a Big Bends AXS Wipe Microfiber Polish Cloth you gotta get one and try it.
Big Bends also makes an excellent guitar polish called Big Bends Gloss Sauce Finish Rejuvenator. Big Bends Gloss Sauce is gentle on your guitar and it will clean and polish all in one step. I’ve had other polishes that leave greasy streaks behind when I use them but Big Bends Gloss Sauce is truly non-streaking. So pick up a bottle of Gloss Sauce and some AXS Wipes and your guitar will look shiny and new with a minimum of work.
I also have a couple guitars with unfinished maple necks and also a couple with beautiful rosewood necks. There are a lot of fretboard conditioners out there but you have to be careful. You don’t want a conditioner that has any solvents, lemon or citric oils in them. These can loosen frets and inlays over time. Big Bends Fret Board Juice Fretboard Conditioner is 100% highly refined ultra-pure white mineral oil. It’s very safe to use on your fretboard and will keep it from warping and drying out.
Finally for all you Stratocaster and Telecaster players out there. Here’s a little trick that Stevie Ray Vaughan used and Jeff Beck uses on their Stratocasters to keep the strings from breaking at the bridge. Their guitar technicians take a little wire insulation and put a sleeve on the strings right where they contact the bridge block coming out of the tremolo. This takes the pressure off the strings at those contact points and it keeps string breakage to a minimum. Now Big Bends makes a great product so you don’t have to pull the wire out of the insulation to use this great method. Just pick up a set of Big Bends String Sleeves and you can use this great setup technique to keep your string breakage to a minimum as well. One set of Big Bends String Sleeves will set up two guitars. You can also use the string sleeves over and over when you change strings. It’s really a great product.
So today I’m fully endorsing the entire line of Big Bends Guitar Care Products, give them a try and I’m sure you’ll be happy.
