  • Sunday Funnies – Spinal Tap/The Folksmen “Unwigged and Unplugged”

This is a great live video of Chritsopher Guest, Michael McKean and Harry Shearer performing a collage of songs from their bands “Spinal Tap” and “The Folksmen”. It’s just funny to listen to how tight they are moving between singing folk songs and acoustic versions of Spinal Tap songs. These three guys are really talented musicians and performers. I got a good laugh at several parts of this video clip.

The music ends at about 4:40 and the rest of the clip is an interview. I suggest just watching the song unless you’re a really big fan!       (more…)

  • Sunday Funnies – Mick Jagger Quits The Rolling Stones

A bunch of old dudes horsing around doing a parody of the Rolling Stones? It could be a disaster but it’s actaully pretty funny. Sure it’s amateurish and over-the-top but I got a chuckle out of their impersonation of the Rolling Stones.

I wonder if this is how the Rolling Stones really act when they’re rehearsing for a tour?      (more…)

  • Sunday Funnies – Funny Guitar Face

Here’s some pretty decent guitar playing going on. What cracks me up in this video is the guys funny “guitar face” that he makes throughout the song. I also cracked up at the tape on the nerd glasses!    (more…)

Welcome to the Sunday Funnies on Live Musician Central. Every Sunday we post up a video clip or funny music game that will tickle your funny bone.

Today I’m presenting a clip that could be a Saturday morning cartoon commercial. Remember those ‘Just For Kids’ commercials on Saturday? Well this one has a song that will stick in your brain and have you singing it all day. I hope you like waffles as much as I do!    🙂    (more…)

  • Sunday Funnies – Kids Cartoon Candy Cigarettes

Everybody knows that any smoking at all is not good for your body. So it was a pretty major marketing blunder when someone got the bright idea to put famous cartoon characters on candy cigarettes. Having kids associate Spider-Man with smoking is maybe not the best thing for good ol’ Spidey’s image. Okay, they’re calling them “candy sticks” but we all know they’re just re-packaged candy cigarettes.     (more…)

  • Sunday Funnies – Green Jelly “The Three Little Pigs” Video

Ahh yes, a classic metal tune by the crazy metal band Green Jelly. This was huge back in 1993 and we used to watch it on MTV all the time. My oldest son used to be scared to death of Rambo in it. He was so scared, all we had to do was say “Raaaambo!” to him and he’d run and hide. Of course he was only two years old at the time.   (more…)

  • Sunday Funnies – Kiss Plays Rick Astley’s “Never Gonna Give You Up”

It’s sad but true that Kiss has been accused repeatedly of “selling out”. Remember the “Music From The Elder”? This performance of Rick Astley’s “Never Gonna Give You Up” is an example of Kiss, yet again, breaking ground and trying out new material. It’s amazing how well Kiss can cover other artists and I had no idea that they could do so well playing standard pop music. I hope you enjoy watching Kiss bust out some killer stage moves to this excellent cover.

  • Sunday Funnies – Larry The Cable Guy Songs

Today we have a clip of Larry The Cable guy showing off his guitar playing skills during his comedy act. Larry actually can’t sing to save his life, but he tells some pretty funny jokes during the process and has a bitchin’ looking confederate flag guitar.    (more…)

  • Sunday Funnies – Dana Carvey Guitar Humor

For todays Sunday Funnies on Live Musician Central I’m posting up a pretty funny clip of comedian Dana Carvey doing some great guitar related jokes. He brings to light some of the funnier aspects of being a guitar player making fun of how guitarists act up there onstage. It’s funny because it’s true!    (more…)
