My band, In Stereo, played a place called the Canyon Inn in Salt Lake City, UT this weekend. Friday night was kind of a bummer because the Utah Jazz basketball team got knocked out of the playoffs by the L.A. Lakers. So that kind of killed the gig on Friday since the club was showing the game. Saturday was 100% better!
The night started out kind of slow and we were a little worried but by the end of the first hour the club started to fill up. We had a good crowd that was there to hear some good live music and that helped us rise to the the challenge. We really had a lot of energy and the crowd got wild. We were feeding off the crowds energy and played really well. In the 2nd, 3rd and 4th sets we had the floor filled for the entire times. We got called back for 2 encores at the end of the night. It was a lot of fun tonight and the experience was good enough that it will keep me motivated to get out there and keep playing.
I hope all you musicians out there had a great gig this weekend too!
I can’t believe you didn’t mention the hot guest musician….by which I mean Reese of course! (Is that his name?)
Oh yeah, I should have mentioned Reese on harmonica for The Doors – Roadhouse, but most importantly I forgot to mention the young and talented Heidi Nedreberg rocking the house on Led Zeppelin – Rock-N-Roll! Heidi really nailed it as well as Melissa Etheridge – I’m The Only One. You know Heidi, you could be the next American Idol. 🙂
